The challenge
Like many community colleges nationwide, Pima Community College (PCC) struggled to re-engage students who had stopped or stalled out of their studies. Leadership set ambitious enrollment goals for Fall 2025:
- Chancellor’s goal: 2.5% increase in headcount
- Enrollment leader’s goal: 5% increase in headcount
To succeed, PCC needed to address common barriers - financial aid confusion, payment deadlines, and reapplication processes - while ensuring timely, relevant communication with students most at risk of not returning.
The solution
Pima partnered with Motimatic to design and deliver a targeted re-engagement strategy that met students where they were and guided them through the enrollment process:
Strategic Timing & Messaging:
Together, we launched a tailored messaging plan to drive key actions at exactly the right moments. This included:
- Encouraging early application and registration (April 2025)
- Providing clear guidance on financial aid and drop-for-nonpayment policies to reduce attrition risks
- Sharing resources to help students prepare for the start of term
Meeting Students Where They Are:
Motimatic and Pima reached 22,000+ students across more than six social media platforms, ensuring broad and high-frequency exposure to personalized, action-driven messaging.
Technology + Content:
The campaigns combined Motimatic’s precision-targeting capabilities with Pima’s trusted institutional voice. The result: a seamless, student-centered engagement that drove measurable impact and exceeded enrollment goals.
The results

In their words
Thanks to your efforts, our enrollment numbers this fall far exceeded our goals. The Chancellor's goal was a 2.5% increase in headcount. My goal was a 5% increase in headcount. We’re proud to have achieved more than 7% headcount growth, continuing Pima’s momentum.
