The challenge

A four-year institution in the Midwest, with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students, needed help increasing its admissions pipeline. The university had a steady flow of leads and started applications but needed to boost submitted applications to meet its enrollment target.

The solution

To address this challenge, Motimatic partnered with the university to design and execute a robust A/B testing strategy. The university’s leads were divided into two groups:

  1. Motimatic Group (50%): Engaged with targeted campaigns through the Motimatic platform.
  2. Holdout Group (50%): Excluded from Motimatic interventions for comparison.

Motimatic developed a campaign with sequential messaging to re-engage prospective students and drive them to submit their applications. This campaign was deployed across major social networks, allowing us to reach their audience with tailored messages at the right time and frequency in their journey.

The results

Through our strategic partnership, we generated the following results:

  • 350% Increase in Submitted Applications at 5X ROI: Leads exposed to Motimatic campaigns submitted 350% more applications, with a 95% significance. Assuming 50% of submitted applications converted to enrolled students, the initiative contributed an estimated $120,000 in tuition revenue—resulting in a 5X ROI.
  • Enhanced Engagement: The campaign generated 21,000 engagements—including likes, clicks, shares, and views—across social media channels.
